Stay away from the mountain. Don’t go anywhere near it. I’d grown up having those words thrown at me throughout my entire childhood. It’s an evil place, they’d say. So I kept my mind away from it, imagining instead forests of a deep green, or grand oceans filled unimaginable sunken wonders, or even peaceful fields, calm plants swaying in the wind. However, as my age grew, so too did my occasional glances at the mysterious growth of the not-so-distant landscape. Slowly, my dreams shifted from the fantastic and exotic locales of oceans and forests, to that mystifyingly unknown yet ever-present place in the distance.
The people of my village, especially our elders, were solemn and silent people who kept to themselves. If you asked them anything about the distant mountain, you’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who wouldn’t simply shrug and say “It’s trouble, and that’s that.” Naturally, it made my search for knowledge on

Inigo turned around at the sound of his mother’s voice. “Ah, good morning Mother.” A dashing smile curved to see the wide, adorable grin on Olivia’s face. “My, my, you look rather cheerful today. Did you learn a new move?”
Olivia happily shook her head, the long pigtails of her pink hair whipped left and right until it bopped on her back. “Nope.” She clapped her hands once, actually causing his shoulders to jump. “I’m just super excited is all!”
Now, for his mother to be utterly excited without reason was one thing, but to show that excitement so openly? Inigo was starting to wonder if Olivia was ill. “Mother,” He placed the back of his right hand on her forehead, “are you unwell?” A worried frown pulled his mouth.
Concern was then mixed with confusion when Olivia quickly shook her head again and took his right hand. “Nope son.” She fla
